Privacy Policy

What Plus Ones collects, who sees it, and how you stay in control. We do not sell your information or show ads.

What we collect

  • From Google or LINE when you sign in: the name and picture on that account, and your email address from Google or your LINE user ID from LINE. We never get your LINE chats, friends, or phone number.
  • Your profile: your name and photos. If you join to meet someone, also your date of birth, gender, height, who you are interested in, the ages and heights you are open to, and anything optional you add, such as a bio, work, education, interests, intentions, and social links.
  • Your circle: who invited you, how you know them, your invite code and who used it, and your friends on Plus Ones.
  • What you do: who you say yes or no to, who you hide, your connections, and the messages you send.
  • Usage: events such as signing in, finishing your profile, or sharing an invite, linked to a random account ID.

Sensitive information

Your gender and who you are interested in can reveal your sexual orientation. We use them only to decide who sees you and whom you see, and only with the separate consent you give before your profile goes live. You can withdraw it by deleting your account.

Who sees what

  • Your friends see your name and photo. If you are meeting people, your profile is shown to friends of friends who fit what you asked for, and whose preferences you fit. Your own friends see it too only if you both allow it on the You tab. Taking a break hides it from everyone.
  • When you scan someone's code to connect, you join their circle, and everyone else who scanned it sees your name, whose code it was, and your first photo if you joined to introduce people, for a week, and can ask to join your circle. Never your profile or its photos.
  • Your date of birth is never shown, only your age. Blurred photos stay blurred until you both say yes.
  • Whether you said yes or no to someone is never shown to them. Your social links are shown only after you both say yes.
  • Your messages are seen only by you and the person you send them to.

How we use it

  • To run Plus Ones: build your circle, choose introductions, and deliver messages.
  • To keep members safe: check that everyone is 18 or older, limit invites, and act on accounts that break the Terms.
  • To send you sign-in emails.
  • To understand, in aggregate, which parts of Plus Ones work and which do not.

We rely on our agreement with you to run the service, your consent for sensitive information, and our legitimate interest in keeping Plus Ones safe and working.

Services we use

These companies process information for us, only to provide their service, and may do so outside your country, including in the United States:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in, and photo storage.
  • Vercel: hosting.
  • Google: sign-in.
  • LINE (LY Corporation): sign-in, and the Plus Ones LINE Official Account, which you follow only if you leave “Add as friend” ticked when signing in with LINE.
  • PostHog: usage analytics. It stores nothing on your device, records no screens, and never receives the text you type or see.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect someone.

Cookies

We use only the cookies that keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile, photos, circle, connections, and messages are removed from Plus Ones straight away, and from backups as they expire. Usage events stay linked only to a random ID that no longer points to you.

Your choices

  • See and edit your profile, and who can see it, on the You tab.
  • Take a break to stop being shown, without losing anything.
  • Hide anyone, or end a connection.
  • Disconnect LINE on the You tab, and block the Plus Ones Official Account in LINE at any time.
  • Delete your account and everything in it from the You tab.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to get a copy of your information, or to object to or restrict how we use it.

Age

Plus Ones is only for people 18 or older. If we learn that someone younger has an account, we delete it.

Security and changes

Information travels encrypted, and access to it is limited to what running Plus Ones needs. No system is perfectly secure. If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will ask you to agree again before you keep using Plus Ones.
